In Edathua Gram Panchayat, there are currently 30 members of the Haritha Karma Sena, two of whom are working in one ward. The Panchayat has provided the Haritha Karma Sena with the necessary safety equipment and other related equipment. The Haritha Karma Sena separates and collects inorganic waste such as plastic, paper, glass, etc. from households and delivers them to the MCF. Through this, the tendency of dumping waste in public places is reduced and environmental pollution is controlled. Haritha Karma Sena plays a crucial role in bringing the concept of "segregating waste at source" to the people. The service is provided by collecting a user fee of Rs. 50 from households and a user fee of Rs. 100/- from institutions. The services of Haritha Karma Sena were made available day and night to conduct the Edathvapalli Perunnal as per the green rules and it was possible to remove organic and inorganic waste in a timely manner. The services of Haritha Karma Sena were very useful in removing waste during the parliamentary elections, assembly elections and elections to local self-government bodies.
